GZ-012 18oz GODZILLA GREAT MONSTER WAR Jeans Regular Straight
GODZILLA GREAT MONSTER WAR
Since the release of the first Godzilla film in 1954, the franchise has captivated audiences for over half a century and continues to attract new fans. Godzilla laid the foundation for Japanese special effects films and television shows, showcasing not only monster battles but also human elements like fleeing citizens and defending military forces, which have been well-received. The films have been screened internationally, gaining popularity and establishing Godzilla as the world's most prolific and likely the most famous kaiju.
In collaboration with Toho, we have chosen the 1965 film "Invasion of Astro-Monster" (also known as "Monster Zero") for this project. This movie reflects its era, featuring Godzilla performing the then-popular "Shie" dance.
The jeans created by D’Artisan for this collaboration are inspired by the wartime jeans familiar to denim enthusiasts. They imagine a scenario where the War Production Board, to prioritize resources for the Great Monster War, imposed regulations on domestic companies to simplify materials and metal components used in clothing. These "Monster War" jeans replicate the simplified details and rough stitching, with unique touches fitting for the collaboration.
