It is said that the origin of the "Sukajan" is that shortly after World War II, American soldiers stationed in Japan at the U.S. military base in Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, ordered embroideries of oriental patterns and emblems of their units and bases to tailor shops as a commemorative gift.
The surface depicts a festival scene enshrining a power loom. It is said that this festival is held to pray for the weaving of high-quality denim throughout the year. The reverse side is a landscape painting with a vintage motif. The indie and the clipper are dressed in Kimonos.
