Studio D'Artisan has produced original blankets with designs that combine patterns called “Attus” from the Ainu, Japan's indigenous people, with Native American blankets born in America, fusing the different cultures of Japan and America. These blankets are based on vintage blankets and are made of wool and cotton, making them thick and sturdy yet lightweight and soft, providing comfortable wear. Nut buttons are used.

Ainu Blanket

The Ainu, the indigenous people of Japan's Hokkaido, mean "human" in their language. They have developed their unique culture, including the belief that all things in nature have souls, traditional dances performed at festivals and in homes, and crafts such as embroidery and wood carving with unique patterns. The Ainu have traditional garments called "Attus," which are adorned with unique patterns in both fabric and embroidery. These patterns have regional characteristics and have been passed down from mother to daughter. Additionally, these patterns have protective meanings. Studio D'Artisan has combined patterns from the Ainu, Japan's indigenous people, with Native American blankets born in America to create original blankets that fuse the different cultures of Japan and America.
