Thank you for your understanding.
The Vietnam War model, inspired by the turbulent 1960s in America, reflects the impact of resource rationing. The back pocket stitching has a painted finish. The pocket lining fabric features the tiger-stripe camouflage used during the Vietnam War. The buttons are made of iron and designed to resemble the laurel wreath buttons from that period, while the label is based on the tear-off tag design from the era. The details and stitching are crafted based on the 1966 model. Combining historical context with imaginative design, this piece encapsulates the “what if...” scenario.
The silhouette is a regular straight cut.
IF... VIETNAM WAR
What if there had been a World War II-inspired model in the 1960s?
During World War II, the implementation of rationing regulations led to restrictions on the production of all goods. Jeans were no exception, and manufacturers had to make use of surplus fabrics and existing products. Any elements considered unnecessary were cut out, and each part of the design was simplified to the extreme. Furthermore, skilled seamstresses who usually worked on jeans production were assigned to military uniforms, leaving less experienced workers to handle the jeans manufacturing. Ironically, the rugged details and crude stitching born from these constraints have now become rare and valuable features in modern fashion.
Based on this historical context, we have created a pair of jeans inspired by the turbulent 1960s in America. What if "World War II-style" jeans had existed during that time? Would they have been simplified like this? Would these details have been included? Would the silhouette have been like this?
We’ve combined history and imagination to create this pair of jeans that reflects the "what ifs" of that era.
