KAKISHIBU SASHIKO DENIM
Kakishibu dyeing is a traditional dyeing method using a natural dye from Japan that dates back over 900 years. This dyeing technique has been passed down through generations as part of Japan’s cultural heritage. Kakishibu dye is also used in traditional medicine for its antibacterial and deodorizing properties. The dyeing process is known as "sun-drying," where the color oxidizes with exposure to sunlight and air, deepening over time. As you wear it, you can enjoy the natural aging process and develop your unique shade. This denim features Sashiko stitching on the warp (vertical) threads and is dyed with Kakishibu on the weft (horizontal) threads. The combination of indigo blue and persimmon creates a unique reddish denim. The stitching on the warp threads shrinks when washed, creating a textured, three-dimensional look. The "Kakishibu Denim" brings together the skills of artisans and Japanese tradition, resulting in a fabric that exudes the essence of Japanese nature and culture.
The silhouette is a relaxed tapered fit.
