Since the birth of 1979, D'ARTISAN has sent out numerous original denim materials to the world.
Based on the idea of rebuilding the old good clothes and telling the modern age that is the guideline of the brand, this time, We made two models with the theme of "Japanese beauty of old colors".
The first one is "Sumi" that is ink used for Japanese books.
Sumi began from the era of China Yin before around 1500 BC, it is said that the transfer of black ink to Japan is at the same time as the passage of letters.
We dyed yarn deeply and powerfully in Sumi color.
The second one is Japanese ancient dyeing "Kakishibu dyeing".
Kakishibu dyeing is used everyday in the lives of ordinary people from long ago, has high waterproof, antiseptic, insecticidal effect.
It was used for daily necessities such as paper clothes and Japanese umbrellas.
Kakishibu dyeing has a distinctive unevenness feeling, condensation polymerization with the years, so the color becomes strong color enough to wear.


Japan's first power loom "G3"
It is a power loom which was operated for a short period of time since the 1950's, which is also said to be the golden age of denim.
Because it is a power loom half a century ago, there is no replacement part, it is necessary to remove the part from the same type disposal model and replace it with a failed part of the operating machine, and it requires a lot of labor and maintenance.
Because we can only weave about 5 meters in an hour, it is a very low production efficiency loom.
