SD-1009 15oz GL3 High Rise Relax Tapered
<GL3 DENIM>
The GL3 loom, manufactured by Toyota Industries Corporation over half a century ago, was Japan’s first power loom. Since replacement parts are no longer available, the only way to keep it running is by salvaging components from decommissioned machines and using them to repair those still in operation. This process is extremely labor-intensive, making maintenance a significant challenge. Additionally, the GL3 operates at a painstakingly slow pace, weaving only 5 meters per hour.
However, the denim woven on the GL3 possesses a rugged and raw texture reminiscent of workwear denim from decades past. This loom is truly one of a kind—it is the only machine capable of capturing the authentic character of vintage denim.
To maximize the unique qualities of the GL3, we have developed an exclusive Studio D’Artisan recipe, carefully crafting every element, from the slub texture and yarn count to the rope-dyed indigo shades and warp-weft density. The result is a denim fabric with a distinctive uneven texture and rugged feel, something that cannot be replicated by modern, mass-produced denim.
After extensive trial weaving and countless refinements, we have finally perfected this exceptional fabric—a testament to our commitment to uncompromising craftsmanship.
We are proud to offer free express worldwide shipping on orders over DKK900.
We use world-class courier companies like EMS, FedEx and DHL to ship products.
We strive to ship from our warehouse within 2 to 3 days of receiving an order and our customers typically receive their orders within a few days of shipping. Please note that we have no control over customs authorities in your country, which may from time to time delay the delivery of a package or, in rare situations, request for additional information or fees. We will do our best to assist you with any customs issues. Just reach out to us!
