Kakishibu dyeing, also known as "sun-dyeing," involves exposure to sunlight and air, which causes oxidation and changes the color over time to a deeper hue. The most appealing aspect of this dyeing method is that the color evolves as the fabric is worn, allowing for a unique patina to develop.
