45TH ANNIVERSARY
ISHIKAWADAI DENIM
Ishikawa-dai" is a Japanese-made ring spinning machine manufactured in 1953 by Ishikawa Seisakusho Co. There is no record of this machine at the manufacturer, and it is believed to be the oldest spinning machine currently in operation in Japan. Compared to the latest ring spinning machines, the speed of this machine is about 1/3 of that of the latest ring spinning machines, and it can spin only at a slow speed. Therefore, productivity is not high. However, because the load on the cotton is low, the original gentle texture of the cotton is utilized, producing an unevenness like hand spinning with a natural expression unique to cotton that cannot be reproduced by a computer.
The indigo dyeing of the warp yarn does not spoil the unique texture of the cotton, and the usual refining process of the yarn is omitted to produce an uneven indigo dye like vintage denim of the time.
To reproduce the denim of 1953, the entire process is intentionally done in a low-tech manner. Products made from this denim will age and change over time, taking on new life as the next generation of vintage wear.

We are proud to offer free express worldwide shipping on orders over $150.
